Remember back when we were kids and our parents had that old set of black and white dominoes? Well, I was one of the few who didn’t even bother to learn how to play the game. I was too distracted with strategically building an epic master plan. Setting them up from my the top of my bunk bed, connecting across my cousins dusty Sega Genesis games (brand new to me), around the hall past my sisters room stopping at the stairs. If all of these pieces were to fall into to place as planned, then that last domino should fall, giving it enough centrifugal force to send my (Yellow CLK Kompressor) hot wheel car up and around the tracks I set up. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough pieces to lead it all the way down the stairs so the car eventually plummets to its demise; but I think that you get the importance of the story.
In a metaphorical sense setting up those domino contraptions, reminds me of what I’m doing with my music. Each domino is a track, a song I’ve produced, a show, an interview, awards and nominations. Each domino represents a strategic step that corresponds to a bigger plan. So, when I place that last domino needed to finalize the project, it’s officially done. From there I can go back and start at the begining; by tipping over the the first piece and slowing watching my masterpiece at work ” from the top of my bunk bed, connecting across my cousins’ dusty sega Genesis games, around the hall past my sisters room stopping at the stairs, to push my hot wheel up and around the tracks, but this time it lands perfectly.

A big section of those dominoes came from the 2012 Saint Louis Music Awards. I was up for three total nominations. I drove into town and as soon we got there, we started working. We, M.M.E. finished up the new track and performed it at the awards show. Every time our category would get announced M.M.E.’s hearts were racing from anticipation of the winner. And every time when it was announced,”and the Winner is…” the suspense was suddenly killed. We didn’t win Freshman Class Group of the Year unfortunately, rapper A-Game did. He has been putting in major work, he deserved it, congrats. Turns out I also didn’t win producer of the year either, but the applause and cheers from the crowd was enough for me, to serve as fuel for next year. In the last segment of the awards, we were pretty sure that we were going home empty handed, then out of the blue, we heard our named called for Best Video: “And the winner is…..M.M.E.” Shocked and amazed, we paused for a second and then proceeded to go ape shit. How did we totally forgot about that category? We jumped on stage accepted our award and spoke to the crowd. “MMTTLDOM We love ya’ll man.”
With that being said I’m getting closer to completing my masterpiece entitled A.D.D. (Artistically Day Dreaming). I see this album as being my official introduction into the music world as a solo artist. I’ve been working hard on the production of this album. I’ve been in the studio with vocalist Kayla Steen from Atlanta, her vocals compliment the tracks perfectly. A huge influence of this album comes from late 70′s uk synth proogs era. Those where the sounds that vibrated and echoed throughout the house as I was growing up listening to my fathers record collection. Each track will send your mind through a visual trip, giving you a glimpse of the way my mind thinks and works. March 26th is the slated release date, that same day also happens to be my birthday. So from me to you, I present you a present. A.D.D. (Artistically Day Dreaming). A domino catastrophic masterpiece. ![]()
The next single I’m dropping is called “Popping Wheelies On A Unicylce” the title is self explanatory…this is what I do.
